Have you ever thought about how much waste there is in elearning – and in training in general? It’s massive.

Learning Pool had a really good idea. They realised that there was a lot of duplication, and therefore waste, in the public sector with each authority commissioning and/or building their own training.

What Learning Pool effectively said was, ‘Why not build once and distribute the source files so that everyone can adapt their modules, and update them, to fit their needs’. Very cost effective and essentially recycling. What’s more everyone can contribute to the ‘pool’ and increase the amount of content available to share.

(We’re just wondering how long it’s going to be until someone comes up with a similar idea using Storyline – or maybe they have.)

Much of the Learning Pool idea has influenced the thinking behind our video subscription service. It makes explainer videos, which are focused on required training, available at a very low cost.

The long term the goal is to cut down the cost of the basic content so that more can be spent on individualised, or local training. Good stewardship of resources – in our view.

You can see all our explainer videos on our Showreel page or subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on our new videos when they come out.

Here’s an example. This is one of our latest videos.
